Analog Alien got its start with a pair of brothers , owners of a small boutique recording studio on the east coast of the United States, called Cloud 9 Recording. In working to help guitarists that were recording at their studio find a way to get better tones from their pedalboards, they formed Cloud 9 Audio to launch their Analog Alien line of guitar FX pedals, to aid in the battle to preserve all things analog.
